Mauritius eSIM FAQ
- Can I use the eSIM at the airport when I land in Mauritius?
- Yes — install the Mauritius eSIM before you fly, then switch the line on after you land, and it connects to a partner network inside the airport within about two minutes, so you can order a ride, open maps, or message home before you reach baggage claim.
- Which mobile networks does the Mauritius eSIM use?
- Your phone roams on Emtel, my.t — the same nationwide networks that local subscribers use — so coverage across Mauritius matches what a local SIM card would give you, and the eSIM automatically latches onto whichever partner network happens to be strongest wherever you are standing.
- Does the Mauritius eSIM support 5G?
- Yes — plans for Mauritius run on 5G wherever the partner network has 5G coverage and your phone supports it, and the connection falls back to 4G LTE everywhere else, which is still fast enough for maps, streaming, video calls, and uploading photos from the road.
- Can I share Mauritius eSIM data by hotspot or tethering?
- Yes — every Mauritius plan allows hotspot and tethering at no extra cost, so you can share the connection with a laptop, a tablet, or a travel companion’s phone, and that data simply comes out of the same allowance you bought instead of a separate tethering bucket.
- Which Mauritius eSIM plan has the lowest price per GB?
- The best value plan for Mauritius right now works out to $0.60 per GB — that is 100 GB of data valid for 31 days at $59.94 — and larger data buckets almost always cost less per gigabyte, so buying one bigger plan beats topping up twice.
