5 Minutes, Tops
Installation Guide
The whole thing takes about five minutes. Most people install at home before they fly, and just toggle the line on when they land.
iPhone (iOS 16+)
- Open the email with your QR code on a different device (laptop or another phone).
- On your iPhone, go to Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM.
- Choose "Use QR Code" and scan the code.
- Follow the prompts. Label it (e.g. "Travel") so you can find it later.
- When you arrive, go to Settings → Cellular and turn on the new line for data. Leave your primary line on for calls/SMS.
Android
- Open the email with your QR code on a different device.
- On your Android, go to Settings → Connections → SIM card manager → Add eSIM (wording varies slightly by brand).
- Scan the QR code.
- Tap "Add" and wait for activation. Name it so it is easy to switch later.
- On arrival, set the eSIM as your mobile-data SIM. Keep your home SIM for calls/SMS.
Tips
- Install before you fly, while you have Wi-Fi — activation downloads the profile over internet.
- Don't scan the QR more than once. The code is single-use; after it's activated it won't install again.
- Disable data roaming on your home line to avoid surprise charges.
- If your phone's eSIM list fills up, you can remove old travel eSIMs you no longer need.
- No data after you land? Check that data roaming is turned on for the Hungry eSIM line — iPhone: Settings → Cellular → tap the eSIM → Data Roaming. Android: Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → tap the eSIM → Roaming (Samsung: Settings → Connections → Mobile networks → Data roaming). This is the most common reason an eSIM looks dead abroad.
Trouble?
If the QR won't scan or activation fails, email [email protected] with your order number. Removing an installed eSIM doesn't give you a fresh code, and in most cases a deleted eSIM can't be installed again. If something looks wrong, email us before you delete anything.
